Gladiolus

It has been a warm and windy week in central Oklahoma. There is expected to be some much needed rain here tonight. My balcony garden is looking good although it is needing more water than usual. We went to the farm on Thursday and I saw some more new plants. the I saw that the gladiolus I planted last year is finally blooming, red and yellow ones. I also saw a beautiful field bindweed. The zinnias are starting to bloom. The weeds have returned to the garden along with many baby grasshoppers. Last year was very rainy and we didn’t have that many grasshoppers. The warm and dry weather this year has caused there to be more grasshoppers. I have been very busy lately but I did do some cooking at home. I tried to make sheet pan fajitas and they were not that flavorful. I did not use a marinade on the meat and it seems to improve the flavor of meat a lot. I have gotten two new books from the library but I haven’t finished them yet. I am planning to visit my family in the beginning of July. I am planning to make some drawings for them before I go. I will also make chocolate chip cookies to take with me. I did not get to draw as much as I wanted to, but I did do my drawings for my art class. I will be getting new glasses and they are progressive bifocals. I am a bit nervous because I have not worn these before. My new glasses will be purple and are larger than my current ones.
