We got a little rain here this week in central Oklahoma but still need more. There were also a few tornadoes over the weekend and one was about ten miles from our farm. It has continued to be warmer than usual and the tulips have arrived early. I saw some beautiful ones after the rain this week and took photos of them. My seedlings are still doing well and I am continuing to put them outside on the balcony during the day as much as possible. I have brought the larger plants inside so the squirrels won’t mess with them. My boyfriend also bought me two pomegranate trees for my birthday next week. So the apartment is full of plants now. In addition to the trees, he gave me two new feeders for my squirrels. Sometimes the wind would blow away the sunflower seeds when I put them out for the squirrels so these will be helpful. There’s some assembly required so I haven’t found out yet if the squirrels will like them. We’re planning to go to the farm on my birthday next Saturday. I will be planting some seeds and pulling weeds again. I got two gift cards for my birthday already and I will be using them on art supplies. I am considering buying some oil pastels, either Mungyo Gallery or Paul Reubens Haiya. I have done drawings of flowers in my sketchbook this week and I used crayons and colored pencils. I think it will be fun to try drawing them in oil pastels next. I have begun a new book called “The Encyclopedia of Oil Painting” by Jeremy Galton. I am very interested in oil painting but oil paints can be quite expensive. The spring forward time change took place last night and we lost an hour of sleep. This has made me feel very tired today. I’m really anticipating my birthday gift from my family. The upcoming week should be a busy one since it is my birthday week.
