It was a warm and windy week here in central Oklahoma. So warm, in fact, that my tulips started to come up early. Google says they’ll be fine, but I have my doubts. The temperature dropped today into the teens in Fahrenheit. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like it will be cold for long. I have been a busy bee π this week preparing to visit my family. I finished up my gifts this week. As usual, I try to make a lot of my own gifts. It is fun for me since I love crafts and it saves money. I finished painting my friend’s dice box and dragon figure. I was pleased with the results and I hope he likes them. I also painted four pairs of rose earrings for the ladies in my family. I painted them red, pink, lavender, and yellow. I think they also turned out pretty well. I made a pair of dice earrings for myself, too. I also painted the frame of my mom’s Winnie the Pooh picture. I think it looks nice and I will give it to her with the Michael Jackson picture I drew. I also drew a dinosaur picture for one of my nephews. I did some shopping and I bought myself some Bob Ross socks and highland cow slippers. I went to the farm this week to give my cat her flea and tick medicine. She is doing well but the drip irrigation line is having some issues. I was pleased as pie to see that the phlox was blooming. I guess it prefers the cool weather. It seems to be doing better since we moved it to a new place. I gathered some seeds to share with my family as gifts. I got some lantana, morning glory, and mistflower seeds to give away. The sage and oregano were still doing good so I harvested some for cooking. I will be making chocolate chip cookies this week to take to my family. I might make some coconut macaroons as well if I have time because my boyfriend really likes them. I saw a new bird this week called a Carolina wren. I also noticed that the tree in front of my apartment is keeping its leaves again this year. This is called marcescence and I first noticed it last year. We also tried a pie from a shop downtown called Pie Junkie. It was expensive but delicious. While I was downtown, I took photos of some of the murals there. I love murals and have a dream of painting one someday. There was a clothing store nearby that had a very long line called Grinmore. I missed the deadline for the art grant I wanted to apply for but I will work on it for next year. I’m really excited to see my family this week and it looks like it will be a beautiful day for a drive.
