The weather is getting cooler again and we had some rain today in central Oklahoma. My balcony garden has been blooming but I think another freeze will come next week. My balcony garden also has a new resident, a very cute little gray mouse. Unfortunately, we have also seen them in the apartment several times. Most of these were black mice. We have been trying to catch them but our traps haven’t worked. Since I have lupus, my immune system is not always working well. This means I shouldn’t be around the mice because they can spread diseases. My boyfriend thinks that the mice are attracted to the bird and squirrel seeds so he asked me to stop feeding them until we get rid of the mice. We will try some different traps next week. I went to the farm today to feed the cat and plant my bulbs before the freeze. I was successful in planting all 25 bulbs in a short time. I also grabbed another rosemary cutting to try to plant. Most things have died back already but the goldenrod and phlox were blooming still. Both of the coral bells I transplanted recently are still doing good. There was a mystery substance on one of the tree stumps at the farm. We didn’t have time to pick the persimmons today. I learned today that female asparagus plants can make red berries and that these berries have seeds in them. So I grabbed a few and I am going to try to plant them. I began to prepare for Thanksgiving next week and bought all the food. I saw the geese while grocery shopping again. I finished my mom’s Winnie the Pooh drawing and will give it to her next month. I am still reading the DK book and am about halfway through it. I tried two new art products this week. I tried a pencil sharpener called Kum automatic long point and am so impressed with it. It is the best pencil sharpener I have ever used. I also got some erasable pens called Frixion to use on my mom’s Pooh drawing. I was not as impressed with these. They didn’t erase as well as advertised and were smudgy with the colored pencil. Going back to Micron. I also tried some new bulk peppermint tea from Frontier Co-op. It was really high quality and I am pleased with it. I won a small Amazon gift card from work and I used it to buy some gifts for my family and an eraser for myself. The eraser is called the sand eraser and it is supposed to be able to erase pen. We will see how it performs when it arrives on Monday. I’m looking forward to eating lots of food this week. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans! 🦃🦃🦃
