Gifts for my sister

I am beginning to prepare gifts for the holidays for my family and have started on making gifts for my sister. This week, I entered a small art contest on IG. I didn’t win but my sister really liked the drawing and said she’d like it framed. So I will look for a frame for that and make it a part of her gift. I also “found” some red yucca seeds and will give some to my sister. As for the remaining seeds, I will plant some of these in my garden today and will save some in the refrigerator for next year. They will grow well where my sister lives and she is also into gardening. My sister’s favorite animal is the panda 🐼 so I made 2 miniature polymer clay panda sculptures, a sad one and a baby one. I used Sculpey clay and gloss glaze to make it shiny. I also made a few necklaces and a bracelet for my family members. You can see pictures of what I have made below. I will be continuing to make more gifts over the coming weeks. Today, I’m doing more preparation in the garden for winter. I will rake the leaves to use as mulch and drain the hoses before the first freeze. We have an outdoor kitten we have been feeding in the barn. Other animals such as skunks and opossums have been eating her food so we will install another motion activated light in the barn. We had one before but the rats chewed through the cord. The kitten didn’t control the rats and the rats are too smart for traps. One of the animals bit the kitten and so she needed antibiotics. She has recovered well. We are also setting up a warm winter shelter for the kitten in the barn and I hope we can finish it today. We have completed the gate and will get the culvert next. I will be working on Thanksgiving but I am looking forward to seeing my family next month. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving day!
